PCV/Oil Separator Replacement? The PCV valve on our 2012 Q7 with a 3.0 has failed at 95k. It makes a loud whining noise. Unfortunately for us, it appears only the 2013-2015 models are covered by Audi’s 10 year / 120k warranty on the PCV. I feel like this is a job for the pros after doing some research. 2. Remove all spark plugs and cover the engine harness plugs for the coils (for water protection). 3. Drain the coolant so that it can be reused. 4. Bring front end of the car into service position (for QS, A6, S4, and S5 Cabrio) to make room in the front of the engine. The Q7 has enough room for access to the front of the cylinder heads. 5.
9. Start engine, put heater on "HI" temp, fan on low. 10. Let car warm until hot air blows from heater, then shut off the engine. 11. Slowly remove reservoir cap to allow system to vent slowly. 12. Drain coolant system again. *Note, reservoir cap must be removed for system to drain. Repeat steps 4 - 12 until run off from coolant system is clear.
